Regular Season Round 18: TED Ankara - Fenerbahce 78-88

TKBL top team - Fenerbahce (17-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked TED Ankara (7-11) 88-78. The game was mostly controlled by Fenerbahce. TED Ankara was better in fourth quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fenerbahce forced 20 TED Ankara turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Fenerbahce brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American Angel McCoughtry (187-86, college: Louisville) notched 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international power forward Yasemin Horasan (186-83) supported her with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Even 24 points by American center Marcedes Marie Walker (191-86, college: Pittsburgh, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for TED Ankara. Nigerian swingman Mactabene Amachree (190-78, college: Abil.Christian) added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Five Fenerbahce and four TED Ankara players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fenerbahce have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 17-1 record. TED Ankara at the other side keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Canik Bld and Antakya. Fenerbahce will play against Tarsus Bld (#5) in Mersin in the next round. TED Ankara will play on the road against Istanbul Universitesi (#8) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
