A very close game took place in Manisa between Vestel and Bandirma Kir.. Sixth ranked Vestel (13-8) got a very close home victory over 11th ranked Bandirma Kir. (10-11). Vestel managed to escape with a 2-point win 65-63 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bandirma Kir.. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bandirma Kir. won third quarter 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Raymond Sykes (206-86, college: Clemson, agency: Three Eye Sports) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Yigitcan Turna (187-87) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Vestel moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Loser Bandirma Kir. keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Baskent Genclik. Vestel will meet Trabzonspor (#9) on the road in the next round. Bandirma Kir. will play against Final Genclik in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
