Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Gelisim (12-9) beat at home bottom-ranked Izmir BSB (1-20) 96-78 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Gelisim. Izmir BSB was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Izmir BSB was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Jermaine Dearman (202-80, college: S.Illinois) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Michael Porrini (187-89, college: Kent St.) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Gelisim players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Gurur Baybora (-90) with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Bugra Gacemer (184-83) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Izmir BSB's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Gelisim moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Trabzonspor and Darussafaka. Izmir BSB lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 20 lost games. Gelisim will face Pertevniyal (#15) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Izmir BSB will play at home against Istanbul B.B..
