The game in Cherkasy was also quite interesting. 7th ranked BC Donetsk (15-15) played at the court of eighth ranked Cherkasy (16-15). Cherkasy managed to secure a 7-point victory 78-71 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Donetsk. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Donetsk won third quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. Denis Ikovlev (201-86, college: Nevada, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Lithuanian power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, college: Wake Forest, agency: Priority Sports) responded with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Trinidad and Tobago center D'or Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) scored 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (made all of his seven free throws). Cherkasy moved-up to sixth place. Defending champion BC Donetsk dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. Cherkasy will face DniproAzot (#11) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
