Rather expected game in Krivoy Rog where 13th ranked Dnipro (10-19) was defeated by tenth ranked Kryvbasbasket (12-17) 75-71 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-14. But Dnipro won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Serbian forward Lazar Trifunovic (203-87, college: Radford) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Vladimir Konev (201-89) helped adding 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). At the losing side Australian-Dutch power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and international power forward Maxym Korniyenko (204-87) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kryvbasbasket maintains tenth place with 12-17 record. Loser Dnipro keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Kryvbasbasket will face higher ranked Halychyna (#4) in Lviv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dnipro will play at home against BC Kyiv (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
