There was an upset in Essen where higher ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (13-9) were defeated by twelfth ranked ETB Wohnbau (10-12) 75-68 on Saturday. The game without a history. ETB Wohnbau led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. ETB Wohnbau had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Logan Stutz (205-88, college: Washburn) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Fabian Franke (198-88, agency: Limelight Hoops) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four ETB Wohnbau players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Jeremiah Kelly (182, college: De Paul) scored 16 points. ETB Wohnbau moved-up to ninth place, which they share with NBC and Jena. Loser Cuxhaven BasCats keep the fifth position with nine games lost. ETB Wohnbau will face Kirchheim Knights (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against the league's leader SC Rasta Vechta (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
