Regular Season Round 19: Leitershofen - Fraport SKY II 105-91

We should not miss a home victory of eighth ranked Leitershofen (9-10) over 4th placed Fraport Skyliners II (10-9) 105-91. It looked good early as Fraport Skyliners II took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Leitershofen had a 35-19 second period charge getting the lead and Fraport Skyliners II was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 91-105. Leitershofen shot 60.3 percent from the field and made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Leitershofen outrebounded Fraport Skyliners II 29-18 including 21 on the defensive glass. American guard Lindsey Hughey (190-89, college: Weber St.) fired 35 points (!!!), 6 assists and 5 steals (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: FCM) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists. Hughey is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. point guard Falko Theilig (180-92) produced 9 points and 16 assists and American point guard Larry Wright (188-87, college: Oakland) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fraport Skyliners II's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leitershofen maintains eighth place in Group South with 9-10 record. Fraport Skyliners II at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Leitershofen's next round opponent will be higher ranked TV 1862 Langen (#6) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
