Regular Season Round 19: Wulfen - Oldenburg 78-74

There was an upset when 4th placed Oldenburg (10-9) lost on the road to ninth ranked BSV Wulfen (8-11) 78-74 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-74. BSV Wulfen made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Oldenburg turnovers. It was a very good performance for American center Anthony Young (200-89, college: Ky Wesleyan) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Antonio Houston (196-88, college: Catawba) contributed with 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Michael Taylor (193-87, college: Whitworth) answered with 27 points and guard Anselm Hartmann (190-93) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Oldenburg. BSV Wulfen moved-up to sixth place in Group North, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Oldenburg keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. BSV Wulfen will face BSW Sixers (#10) in Sandersdorf in the next round. Oldenburg will play at home against Spot Up Medien Baskets (#6) in Braunschweig and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
