The game in Sakiai was also quite interesting. Third ranked Olimpas (23-9) played at the court of 6th ranked Zanavykas (19-13). Olimpas managed to secure a 5-point victory 93-88 on Saturday. Olimpas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Audrius Maneikis (203-84, college: Motlow St. CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and American guard Toney McCray (198-89, college: Nebraska, agency: Interperformances) who added 19 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Guard Edgaras Stanionis (193-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and center Vilius Sumskis (213-84, agency: Interperformances) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Olimpas maintains third position with 23-9 record having just two points less than leader Mazeikiai. Zanavykas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth place with 13 games lost. Olimpas will meet bottom-ranked Nafta Universitetas (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Zanavykas will play against Statyba (#6) in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
