Regular Season Round 23: Gussing - BC Vienna 83-79

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked BC Vienna (16-5) on the court of seventh ranked Gussing Knights on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Gussing Knights 83-79. The game without a history. Gussing Knights led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American forward Marcus Heard (201-84, college: De Paul) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. International forward Sebastian Koch (202-88) helped adding 18 points. Heard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Gussing Knights' coach Radomir Mijanovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and American power forward Maurice Pearson (206-89, college: Georgetown, KY) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Gussing Knights (12-9) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Oberwart. BC Vienna at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Gussing Knights is looking forward to face higher ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Vienna will play against Redwell Gunners Oberwart and is hoping to win this game.
