Regular Season Round 44: BC Odessa - Hoverla 73-75

Twelfth-ranked BC Odessa (11-19) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked Hoverla (16-14) on Sunday. The visitors from Frankivsk managed to secure only two-point victory 75-73. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Odessa. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 2 points. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and center Yaroslav Lemyk (204-85) who added 13 points during the contest. American guard Justin Love (189-78, college: St.Louis) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Andriy Agafonov (208-86, agency: Interperformances) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hoverla maintains seventh position with 16-14 record. Loser BC Odessa dropped to the eleventh place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Dnipro and DniproAzot. Hoverla will meet at home league's second-placed Azovmash in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BC Odessa will have a break next round.
