Very important is a home loss of third ranked TG Chooza Ladybaskets (9-6) against fifth ranked Speyer / Schifferstadt (9-6) on Sunday night. Host TG Chooza Ladybaskets were crushed by Speyer / Schifferstadt in Wuerzburg 84-63. It looked good early as TG Chooza Ladybaskets took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Speyer / Schifferstadt had a 32-9 second period charge getting the lead and TG Chooza Ladybaskets were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-84. Canadian swingman Emma Duinker (182-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Uta Gelbke (177-86) contributed with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. April Bankston answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and forward Felicitas Schneider (181-91) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for TG Chooza Ladybaskets. TG Chooza Ladybaskets' coach already knew that her team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Speyer / Schifferstadt have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in South, which they share with Wuerzburg and Heidelberg. Speyer / Schifferstadt's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Gruner Stern Keltern at home and it will be for sure the game of the week.
