Regular Season Round 23: ICIM Arad - Satu Mare 82-63

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked ICIM Arad as it allowed them to take a leadership position. ICIM Arad smashed 3rd placed Satu Mare at home 82-63. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Satu Mare. The game was mostly controlled by ICIM Arad. Satu Mare managed to win second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. The former international swingman Monika Boriga (176-74) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four ICIM Arad players scored in double figures. American forward Utahya Drye (185-88, college: Virginia Tech) responded with 15 points and the other American import power forward Shanika Freeman (186-83, college: Jacksonville St.) scored 17 points. Satu Mare's coach Dan Fleseriu rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Satu Mare at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Satu Mare will play next round against Brasov trying to get back on the winning streak. ICIM Arad will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Craiova in Craiova.
