Regular Season Round 20: Kayseri - Botas 79-72

Date: February 20, 2013
Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Botas (9-11) lost on the road to third ranked Kayseri (15-5) 79-72. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Botas won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kayseri made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Botas turnovers. The best player for the winners was American power forward Asjha Jones (191-80, college: Connecticut) who scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Greek forward Zoi Dimitrakou (188-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 18 points. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and American-Armenian swingman Quianna Chaney (180-86, college: LSU) added 12 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Kayseri maintains third position with 15-5 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce, which they share with Mersin. Botas at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. Kayseri's next round opponent will be Antakya (#8) in Hatay where they are favorite. Botas will play at home against Besiktas in Istanbul.
