Regular Season Round 45: Hoverla - Azovmash 82-76

The game between second ranked Azovmash (21-9) and seventh ranked Hoverla (17-14) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Azovmash was defeated by Hoverla in a tough game in Frankivsk 76-82. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Azovmash. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a good game for American Kyndall Dykes (190-87, college: New Orleans, agency: Edge Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Center Yaroslav Lemyk (204-85) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Azovmash. Four Hoverla and five Azovmash players scored in double figures. Azovmash's coach Sergei Zavalin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hoverla moved-up to sixth place. Azovmash at the other side keeps the second position with nine games lost. Hoverla are looking forward to face Dnipro (#12) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Azovmash will play on the road against Halychyna (#3) in Lviv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
