Regular Season Round 18: Herner - Heli Girls 79-74

An interesting game took place in Herne where higher ranked Heli Girls (10-8) were upseton the court of eleventh ranked Herner TC (6-12) 79-74 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 24-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Herner TC forced 23 Heli Girls turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Teya Wright (185-89, college: Providence) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import guard Quenese Davis (178-88, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 21 points. Four Herner TC players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Cuban forward Yadira Francis (186-85) who recorded 23 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Morgan Henderson (185-88, college: San Diego) added 16 points respectively. Herner TC have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with BG 89 Avides. Loser Heli Girls dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Freiburg. Herner TC will meet bottom-ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (#12) on the road in the next round. Heli Girls will play against Rotenburg/Scheessel (#11) and hope to secure a win.
