There was an upset when higher ranked Artland Dragons (13-11) lost to fifteenth ranked New Yorker Phantoms (10-14) in Braunschweig 68-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by New Yorker Phantoms. Artland Dragons was better in second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Cameroonian forward Harding NaNa (203-81, college: Delaware) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. American guard Immanuel McElroy (193-80, college: Cincinnati) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Five New Yorker Phantoms players scored in double figures. New Yorker Phantoms' coach Kostas Flevarakis used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Bradley Buckman (203-84, college: Texas) replied with 6 points and 14 rebounds and Serbian center Petar Popovic (211-79) added 18 points in the effort for Artland Dragons. New Yorker Phantoms have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Bayreuth. Loser Artland Dragons keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. New Yorker Phantoms will face Mitteldeutscher BC (#15) in Weissenfels in the next round.
