Important game to mention about took place in Balikesir. Ninth ranked Balikesir (13-10) saved a 3-point derby victory at home edging second-ranked Usak (16-7) 84-81 on Saturday evening. Usak was ahead by 10 points at the halftime before a 28-14 third quarter run of Balikesir. They also forced 20 Usak turnovers. Usak was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Robert Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Cem Coskun (209-87) helped adding 19 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 28 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Balikesir moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Vestel. Usak at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Selcuk Univ.. Balikesir will play against Istanbulspor (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Usak will play against Selcuk Universitesi (#3) in Konya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
