Regular Season Round 20: Oldenburg - SU Medien 66-69

The most exciting game of round 20 in the ProB took place in Oldenburg. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked Oldenburg (10-10) to sixth ranked Spot Up Medien Baskets (9-11) 69-66 on Saturday evening. Spot Up Medien Baskets forced 19 Oldenburg turnovers. American point guard Steven Bennett (173-88, college: Chaminade) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Cuban Howard Sant-Roos (200-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Bennett is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Michael Taylor (193-87, college: Whitworth) replied with 27 points and point guard Kevin Smit (183-91) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Oldenburg. Spot Up Medien Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position in Group North with 9-11 record, which they share with MTV Wolfenbuettel and BSW Sixers. Newly promoted Oldenburg keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Recklinghausen. Spot Up Medien Baskets is looking forward to face BSW Sixers (#8) in Sandersdorf in the next round. Oldenburg will play on the road against the league's leader SG Schwelmer Baskets (#1) and is hoping to win this game.
