Regular Season Round 23: NBC - Ehingen 90-82

Date: February 23, 2013
An interesting game took place in Nurnberg where 6th ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (12-11) was upset on the court of ninth ranked NBC (11-12) 90-82 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ehingen/Urspringschule won third quarter 27-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. NBC made 31-of-35 free shots (88.6 percent) during the game. Ehingen/Urspringschule was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American power forward Ronald Thompson (208-81, college: Morehouse) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Russian forward Nikita Khartchenkov (200-87) helped adding 23 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). NBC's coach Martin Ides used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Garrett Williamson (196-88, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 23 points and the other American import forward Andre Calvin (196-85, college: Drake) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ehingen/Urspringschule players scored in double figures. NBC moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Heidelberg and Jena. Loser Ehingen/Urspringschule keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. NBC will face higher ranked Duesseldorf Baskets (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
