Bottom-ranked Don Bosco Bamberg managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Don Bosco Bamberg edged eighth-ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg 63-61. It looked good early as BC Pharmaserv Marburg took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Don Bosco Bamberg had a 27-15 second period charge getting the lead and BC Pharmaserv Marburg was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-63. Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) notched 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American center Brett Benzio (190-90, college: Tulane) supported her with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Don Bosco Bamberg's coach Steffen Dauer allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds by American center Martha White (187-89, college: NC-Wilmington) did not help to save the game for BC Pharmaserv Marburg. The former international forward Margret Skuballa (186-87) added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four BC Pharmaserv Marburg players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Don Bosco Bamberg maintains twelfth position with 4-14 record. BC Pharmaserv Marburg at the other side keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Oberhausen. Don Bosco Bamberg will play against higher ranked Herner TC (#10) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will play against Oberhausen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
