There was a surprise result in Sakiai where fourteenth ranked Birstono (13-21) beat higher ranked Zanavykas (20-14) 71-64 on Saturday. Birstono forced 19 Zanavykas turnovers. Strangely Zanavykas outrebounded Birstono 47-32 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Zanavykas was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Audrius Ramonaitis (180-92) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and Simas Raupys (195-94) chipped in 13 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Marijus Uzupis (197-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and guard Edgaras Stanionis (193-88) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Zanavykas' coach Giedrius Zibenas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Birstono maintains fourteenth position with 13-21 record. Newly promoted Zanavykas dropped to the seventh place with 14 games lost.
