Regular Season Round 24: Craiova - Oradea 97-54

Bottom-ranked Oradea (0-23) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 97-54 loss to tenth ranked Craiova (9-13) in Craiova on Sunday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Oradea's 34. They outrebounded Oradea 47-22 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Craiova looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Oradea's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Gabriela Toma (192-74) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 blocks and swingman Irina Bors (178-88) who added 29 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Craiova players scored in double figures. Coach Milan Nisic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Alexandra Vlaicu (178-91) with 22 points and 4 assists and power forward Ioana Gavra (179-90) scored 14 points. Craiova maintains tenth position with 9-13 record. Loser Oradea still closes the standings with 23 games lost. Craiova will meet at home higher ranked Alexandria (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Oradea will play against Satu Mare (#3) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
