TKBL top team - Fenerbahce (18-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Ceyhan Bld (9-11) in Adana 96-81. The game was mostly controlled by Fenerbahce. Ceyhan Bld was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fenerbahce dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Ceyhan Bld's 54. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international guard Esmeral Tuncluer (175-80) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists and American Angel McCoughtry (187-86, college: Louisville) who added 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. American center Carolyn Swords (198-89, college: Boston Coll., agency: LBM Management) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and her fellow American import forward Kayla Pederson (193-89, college: Stanford) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Ceyhan Bld's coach Atilla Keskin rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-2 record. Ceyhan Bld lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Botas and Antakya. Fenerbahce will play against Samsun (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ceyhan Bld will play against TED Ankara (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
