Rather expected game in Timisoara where 13th ranked Timba Timosoara (5-19) was defeated by eleventh ranked Pitesti (11-13) 81-68. It looked good early as Timba Timosoara took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Pitesti had a 24-17 second period charge getting the lead and Timba Timosoara was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-81. It was a good game for Serbian swingman Sasa Bratic (202-81, agency: BeoExcell) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 9 rebounds. International point guard Octavian Calota (186-84) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Five Pitesti players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Denham Brown (198-83, college: Connecticut) replied with 24 points and 6 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American guard Jermont Horton (198-84, college: Rutgers-Newark) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Timba Timosoara. Timba Timosoara's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pitesti moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Rovinari. Timba Timosoara lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Pitesti will play against Giurgiu (#12) at home in the next round. Timba Timosoara will play against CS Dinamo Bucuresti and hopes to get back on the winning track.
