Regular Season Round 25: Bayreuth - TBB Trier 75-71

Another upset was a game between TBB Trier (11-13) and BBC Bayreuth (11-14), which took place in Bayreuth. Higher ranked TBB Trier lost to fourteenth ranked BBC Bayreuth in a road game 71-75. It looked good early as TBB Trier took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BBC Bayreuth had a 30-16 second period charge getting the lead and TBB Trier was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-75. BBC Bayreuth made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. American-Puerto Rican guard Kevin Hamilton (193-84, college: Holy Cross) fired 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Italian-American forward Joe Trapani (203-88, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 11 points. International center Andreas Seiferth (209-89, agency: LUMANI 10.7) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Brian Harper (206-85, college: Paine, agency: Pro One Sports) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. BBC Bayreuth moved-up to twelfth place. TBB Trier at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. BBC Bayreuth's next round opponent will be higher ranked EWE Baskets (#3) in Oldenburg and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
