TKBL top team - Fenerbahce (19-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Samsun (3-18) in Istanbul 116-57. The game without a history. Fenerbahce led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Samsun's 34. Fenerbahce forced 22 Samsun turnovers and had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Fenerbahce players were unselfish on offense dishing 38 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Samsun's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The former international power forward Yasemin Horasan (186-83) nailed 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Belarusian center Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-87) accounted for 21 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. The former international forward Meric Yenal (188-88) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Cansu Aslan (170-90) added 16 points respectively for Samsun in the defeat. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-2 record. Samsun lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Fenerbahce will play against Kayseri (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Samsun will play against TED Ankara (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
