Academico FC (#11) forced the game against Montijobanda (#10) into an overtime, but lost by three points 68-71. The game took place in Porto. But the guests from Montijo were better at the end. Academico FC was tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they could not keep up in overtime eventually losing that period 10-13. Montijobanda forced 20 Academico FC turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Monae Baker (185, college: Shippensburg) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Cherise Daniel (180, college: Ohio St.) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Montijobanda's coach Ricardo Barata allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Joana Cruz (168-92) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Joana Ferreira added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Academico FC. Four Academico FC players scored in double figures. Montijobanda (4-14) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Lousada. Academico FC lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Montijobanda's next round opponent will be league's leader Lombos Quinta in Carcavelos and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Academico FC will play on the road against Olivais (#6) in Coimbra.
