Regular Season Round 25: Darussafaka - Izmir BSB 81-55

Date: March 6, 2013
There was no surprise in Istanbul where 18th ranked Izmir BSB (2-23) was crushed by eighth ranked Darussafaka (15-10) 81-55 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Darussafaka. Izmir BSB was better in third quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) fired 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Power forward Adem Oren (207-79) chipped in 7 points and 11 rebounds. Tamer Gurpinar (-92) produced 17 points and forward Omur Gokcepinar (196-80) added 12 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Darussafaka moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Balikesir and Akhisar Bld. Newly promoted Izmir BSB stay dead last with 23 lost games. Darussafaka will face Pertevniyal (#16) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Izmir BSB will play at home against Baskent Genclik in Ankara.
