The game between third ranked Halychyna (21-13) and eighth ranked Cherkasy (19-17) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Halychyna was crushed by Cherkasy in Cherkasy 77-54. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Halychyna. The game without a history. Cherkasy led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Halychyna to just 7 points in second quarter. Strangely Halychyna outrebounded Cherkasy 42-30 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Halychyna's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cherkasy made 8 blocks. Denis Ikovlev (201-86, college: Nevada, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) stepped up and scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) chipped in 17 points.
