An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vilnius. First ranked Kibirkstis-Tiche faced 3rd placed Fortuna. Host Kibirkstis-Tiche (21-4) defeated guests from Klaipeda (17-8) 70-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fortuna. Fortuna was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Vita Kuktiene (186-80) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. International forward Lina Pikciute (192-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Monika Grigalauskyte (190-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and American guard Keiva Council (172-90, college: Loyola, LA) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fortuna. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kibirkstis-Tiche. They maintain first place with 21-4 record. Fortuna at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Kibirkstis-Tiche will play against Utena (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fortuna will play against the league's second-placed Sirenos (#2) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
