Very expected game in Giessen where 18th ranked LTi 46ers (4-21) were defeated by fourteenth ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (11-15) 89-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mitteldeutscher BC. LTi 46ers was better in fourth quarter 29-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mitteldeutscher BC shot 63.2 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Icelandic point guard Hoerdur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Devin Uskoski (201-85, college: Rocky Mountain) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Bosnian power forward Elvir Ovcina (212-76, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Morris Curry (178-87, college: Providence) scored 18 points. Four Mitteldeutscher BC and five LTi 46ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mitteldeutscher BC moved-up to thirteenth place. LTi 46ers lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Mitteldeutscher BC will face higher ranked ratiopharm Ulm (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. LTi 46ers will play against the league's second-placed Bayern Muenchen (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
