There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Finke Baskets (10-15) crushed higher ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (13-12) in Paderborn 108-78 on Saturday. The game without a history. Finke Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-28 free shots (92.9 percent) during the game. Finke Baskets outrebounded Ehingen/Urspringschule 32-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Finke Baskets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Jason Jamerson (190-86, college: Grand Valley St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 assists. Naturalized Israeli guard Guy Aud (188-89) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Aud is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Finke Baskets' coach Martin Krueger felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Andre Calvin (196-85, college: Drake) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Kenneth Ogbe (197-94) added 14 points in the effort for Ehingen/Urspringschule. Five Finke Baskets and four Ehingen/Urspringschule players scored in double figures. Finke Baskets moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Ehingen/Urspringschule keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Finke Baskets will face higher ranked Duesseldorf Baskets (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
