Bottom-ranked USC Leipzig managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time newly promoted USC Leipzig won against fourth-ranked Cuxhaven BasCats 95-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cuxhaven BasCats. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cuxhaven BasCats won fourth quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Cuxhaven BasCats used huge pressure winning it 22-17 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-13. Forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) chipped in 24 points. American power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import forward Scott Thomas (200-89, college: Bowling Green, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 26 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Cuxhaven BasCats players scored in double figures. Cuxhaven BasCats' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted USC Leipzig maintains sixteenth place with 5-20 record. Cuxhaven BasCats at the other side keep the fourth position with ten games lost. USC Leipzig's next round opponent will be higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (#13) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#6) in Allmendingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
