Important game to mention about took place in Craiova. Eleventh ranked Rovinari (13-13) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Craiova (19-7) 84-83 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It looked good early as Craiova took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rovinari had a 22-20 second period charge getting the lead and Craiova was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 83-84. Rovinari made 22-of-23 charity shots (95.7 percent) during the game. Craiova was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Liberian guard Jaytornah Wisseh (185-88, college: LIU Brooklyn) notched 29 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Louis Darby (196-84, college: Long Beach St.) supported him with 26 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Even 21 points and 7 assists by Serbian guard Rade Dzambic (188-80, college: NYIT, agency: TSS Management) did not help to save the game for Craiova. The former international center Ionut Dragusin (221-85) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Five Craiova players scored in double figures. Rovinari moved-up to ninth place. Craiova at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. They share it with Targu Mures and Ploiesti. Rovinari will play against higher ranked U-Mobitelco (#6) in Cluj in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Craiova will play on the road against Ploiesti (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
