TKBL top team - Fenerbahce (20-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Edremit (1-22) in Istanbul 103-58. The game without a history. Fenerbahce led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Edremit's 44. Fenerbahce forced 22 Edremit turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Edremit's players. Belarusian center Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 8 rebounds. Center Hulya Coklar (188-95) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce's coach Roberto Iniguez felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Sanem Gamze Zeren (178-89) answered with 18 points and the former international forward Burcu Tasbas (178-89) added 17 points in the effort for Edremit. Fenerbahce have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-2 record. Edremit lost eighteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 22 lost games. Fenerbahce are looking forward to face league's second-placed Galatasaray in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Edremit will have a break next round.
