Very important is a road loss of second ranked SC Rist Wedel (15-7) against tenth ranked Hannover Tigers (9-13) on Saturday night. Visiting SC Rist Wedel was crushed by Hannover Tigers in Hannover 88-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SC Rist Wedel. It looked good early as SC Rist Wedel took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hannover Tigers had a 18-14 second period charge getting the lead and SC Rist Wedel was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-88. Hannover Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to SC Rist Wedel's 30. Hannover Tigers forced 20 SC Rist Wedel turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-89, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: N.E.T.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. American guard Ashanti Cook (188-84, college: Georgetown) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Hannover Tigers players scored in double figures. American Davey Hopkins (195-88, college: Biola, CA) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Augie Johnston (185-86, college: CS Monterey) added 14 points in the effort for SC Rist Wedel. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hannover Tigers moved-up to ninth place in Group North, which they share with Wulfen and Dorsten. SC Rist Wedel at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost.
