Regular Season Round 51: DniproAzot - Budivelnyk 73-85

Superleague top team - Budivelnyk (27-8) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat thirteenth ranked DniproAzot (11-26) in Dniprodzerzhynsk 85-73. The game was mostly controlled by Budivelnyk. DniproAzot was better in second period 28-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Budivelnyk players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a great evening for the former international Artur Drozdov (200-80) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri, agency: Edge Sports) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Alexander Panchenko (184-84) with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and American guard Eric Devendorf (193-87, college: Syracuse) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Budivelnyk maintains first place with 27-8 record. DniproAzot lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 26 games lost. Budivelnyk will play against Dnipro (#12) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round which should be an easy win for them. DniproAzot will play at home against BC Kyiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
