An interesting game for Sirenos (21-5) which played road game in Klaipeda against one of their biggest challengers Fortuna (17-9). Second ranked Sirenos managed to get a 7-point victory 64-57. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-12. But Fortuna won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sirenos forced 20 Fortuna turnovers and outrebounded them 35-22 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international power forward Iveta Salkauske (195-82, college: Illinois, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Egle Taraseviciute (181-90) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The former international swingman Lina Aglinskaite (182-87) responded with 12 points and 4 assists and American guard Keiva Council (172-90, college: Loyola, LA) scored 10 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Sirenos have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-5 record behind leader Kibirkstis-Tiche. Fortuna at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. Sirenos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fortuna will play on the road against Ruta Siauliai and hopes to get back on the winning track.
