We should mention about the upset which took place in Izmir, where higher ranked Gelisim (12-15) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Pi Koleji (11-16) 78-84. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-16. But Gelisim won third quarter 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pi Koleji players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Gelisim's players. It was an exceptional evening for Halit Serdar Gungor (-77) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 9 rebounds. Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Jermaine Dearman (202-80, college: S.Illinois) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Michael Porrini (187-89, college: Kent St.) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Gelisim in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Pi Koleji. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Final Genclik and Baskent Genclik. Gelisim lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Pi Koleji's next round opponent will be higher ranked Istanbul B.B. (#12) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
