Regular Season Round 21: Wuerzburg - Jahn Muenchen 65-70

There was a minor upset in Wuerzburg where 6th ranked TG Chooza Ladybaskets (10-9) were defeated by ninth ranked Friendsfactory Germering (8-11) 70-65 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 21-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Magdalena von Geyr (180-84) who scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. Canadian forward Rhea Pascal (180, college: Amer.Internat.) chipped in 7 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Felicitas Schneider (181-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Alex McGuire (173-87, college: Army) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four TG Chooza Ladybaskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Friendsfactory Germering maintains ninth place in South with 8-11 record. Loser TG Chooza Ladybaskets keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Friendsfactory Germering will face higher ranked Gruner Stern Keltern (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
