Very important is a home loss of third ranked Speyer / Schifferstadt (11-8) against fifth ranked TSV Amicitia (12-8) on Sunday night. Host Speyer / Schifferstadt was defeated by TSV Amicitia in a tough game in Dudenhofen 76-83. Speyer / Schifferstadt was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 42-32 second half run of TSV Amicitia. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Speyer / Schifferstadt's 46. It was a good game for American swingman Kellindra Zackery (182-88, college: Newman) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Annika Danckert (182-81) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. TSV Amicitia's coach Adrian Crawford allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Mandy Muller (183-86) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian swingman Emma Duinker (182-89) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Speyer / Schifferstadt. Four Speyer / Schifferstadt players scored in double figures. TSV Amicitia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place in South. Speyer / Schifferstadt at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. TSV Amicitia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Speyer / Schifferstadt will play on the road against the league's second-placed BasCats Heidelberg (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
