Regular Season Round 27: ETB Wohnbau - Crailsheim 86-84
Date: March 17, 2013
There was a small surprise in Essen where thirteenth ranked ETB Wohnbau (11-16) edged 11th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (11-16) 86-84 on Sunday. Crailsheim Merlins were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 28-25 charge of ETB Wohnbau, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Aaron Cook (186-83, college: Hartford, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who scored 18 points and 5 assists. Forward Fabian Franke (198-88, agency: Limelight Hoops) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American swingman Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Benjamin Lischka (200-89, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 19 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ETB Wohnbau moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Finke Baskets and Crailsheim. ETB Wohnbau will face bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (#16) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
