Second Stage Round 4: Gure - Botas 48-50

Important game to mention about took place in Balikesir. Top-ranked Botas (4-0) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 4th ranked Gure (1-3) 50-48 on Sunday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gure won third quarter 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Botas forced 20 Gure turnovers. Strangely Gure outrebounded Botas 46-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by center Tilbe Senyurek (188-95) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Busra Akbas (170-95) supported her with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds by Serbian power forward Jelena Budimir (192-85, college: Bethel, TN, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Gure. Center Deniz Selin Ekiz (189-89) added 13 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Botas have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group F leader, which they share with Orduspor. Gure at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Sirince. Botas will play against league's second-placed Orduspor on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gure will play against 55 Genclik in Samsun and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
