Date: March 22, 2013
Everything went according to plan in Mariupol where third ranked Azovmash (23-14) outleveled 13th ranked DniproAzot (11-28) 91-70 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-70. Azovmash looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Azovmash made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, agency: Beo Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. American center David Weaver (209-87, college: Wake Forest) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (190-80, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Azovmash will face BC Odessa (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
