There was no surprise when 17th ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (10-18) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (12-15) 61-56 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 61-56. Mitteldeutscher BC dominated on the defensive end, holding EnBW Ludwigsburg to just 7 points in fourth quarter. American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) fired 7 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Steve Wachalski (202-83) chipped in 9 points. Mitteldeutscher BC's coach Silvano Poropat used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward John Turek (206-83, college: Nebraska) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Derrick Zimmerman (191-81, college: Mississippi St., agency: Three Eye Sports) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side.
