Regular Season Round 22: Marburg - Wolfenbuettel 81-78

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Wildcats Wolfenbuettel (13-9) against tenth ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (8-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Wildcats Wolfenbuettel was edged by BC Pharmaserv Marburg in a tough game in Marburg 78-81. It looked good early as Wildcats Wolfenbuettel took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Pharmaserv Marburg took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Margret Skuballa (186-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. International forward Finja Schaake (179-92) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Four BC Pharmaserv Marburg players scored in double figures. American guard Brianne O'Rourke (171-87, college: Penn St.) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Samantha Whitcomb (178, college: Washington) added 23 points in the effort for Wildcats Wolfenbuettel. Wildcats Wolfenbuettel's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Pharmaserv Marburg moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Herner and Bamberg. Defending champion Wildcats Wolfenbuettel dropped to the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Halle.
