Regular Season Round 29: EWE Baskets - TBB Trier 81-77

There was no surprise when 11th ranked TBB Trier (13-15) lost to second ranked EWE Baskets (19-8) in Oldenburg 77-81. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It looked good early as TBB Trier took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then EWE Baskets had a 22-14 second period charge getting the lead and TBB Trier was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-81. EWE Baskets made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was point guard Dru Joyce (183-85, college: Akron, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who scored 18 points and 7 assists. Power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. Forward Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron, agency: LUMANI 10.7) produced 11 points and 9 rebounds and Barry Stewart (191-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: Pro One Sports) added 15 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. EWE Baskets maintains second place with 19-8 record having just three points less than leader Brose Bask. TBB Trier at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. EWE Baskets' next round opponent will be Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#14) in Frankfurt which should be an easy win for them. TBB Trier will play at home against Phoenix Hagen.
