An interesting game took place in Timisoara where higher ranked Timisoara (19-10) was upset on its own court by twelfth ranked Giurgiu (11-18) 96-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Timisoara. 27 personal fouls committed by Timisoara helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Giurgiu maintains twelfth place with 11-18 record. Timisoara at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Giurgiu's next round opponent will be higher ranked Ploiesti (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Timisoara will play against Farul Const. in Constanca.
