Regular Season Round 30: Leipzig - Crailsheim 96-102

Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked Crailsheim Merlins (13-17) beat on the road bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (8-22) 102-96. It was a good game for American power forward Stevie Johnson (198-78, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Josten Crow (193-87, college: Sam Houston St.) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Crow is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Willie Young used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds and Czech power forward Jaroslav Tyrna (207-86, college: New Orleans) added 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for USC Leipzig. Four USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins maintains eleventh position with 13-17 record. Newly promoted USC Leipzig stay at the bottom place with 22 games lost.
